Heath is a tax partner in the Halifax office, the tax services leader for Nova Scotia and a member of the Partnership Board of Grant Thornton LLP. He is involved with the succession and estate planning group for Nova Scotia where he is responsible for our specialists who focus on the succession and estate planning needs of our clients. Heath has extensive experience in corporate and personal tax planning, complex corporate reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions. He is a member of the firm's manufacturing and distribution sector group and works closely with clients that operate in this area.
Heath is the lead relationship partner for many of our most complex privately held business groups and high net worth family clients, where he brings his commitment to client service, professional knowledge and experience to ensure their strategic tax and business planning objectives are met.
Heath has over 17 years' experience providing tax and business planning advice to clients in a variety of industries ranging from privately held owner-managed businesses to large publically listed companies, including manufacturing, automotive retail operations and professional services firms. He understands the tax issues facing these businesses and provides practical tax and business planning advice.
Heath is the course coordinator and a lecturer for CPA Canada's In-depth Tax - Advanced Owner-Manager course which is targeted towards seasoned tax specialists providing services to owner-manager clients. He is a former tutorial leader for Parts I and II of the In-depth Tax Course at CICA and has lectured at the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountants and at CPA Canada's National Conference on Income Tax.
