Gord has over 25 years of financial advisory, audit, accounting and senior financial management experience both at Grant Thornton LLP and while working for several years as the CFO of a large transportation group.

Gord has always focused on client service excellence as both an audit partner for private and public companies as well as a specialist partner focusing on mergers and acquisitions, business valuations and related corporate finance services.

Gord brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the national leadership team. Prior to assuming his role as managing partner for Western Canada, he held numerous progressive leadership roles in the firm including five years as the managing partner of the Alberta business unit followed more recently by the development and leadership of the firm’s national specialist advisory services group. Gord is the director of the Grant Thornton International Business Centre in Alberta, managing director of Grant Thornton Corporate Finance Inc. and a past member of the firm’s partnership board.

Active in the community, Gord has held numerous positions—both past and present—with a variety of organizations. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV) and is member of the board and treasurer of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra Foundation. He is a past board member and treasurer of the Westside Recreation Centre, Triathlon Canada and Triathlon Manitoba, as well as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Gord has coached community soccer and basketball, and is a volunteer at the Calgary Food Bank.
