  • Join us at one of our seminars this fall.

This event has already taken place.

Now, more than ever, charities and not-for-profit organizations need to be prepared for unexpected changes, and address their challenges the right way. This year's seminar series is focused on how to do just that while keeping the goal of growth in mind.

Each seminar will feature three in-depth sessions:

    Charities:

The Changing Landscape of Successful Charities
Every year we are asked for our perspective on trends within the sector.  In this session we will share our observations of the most successful charities with whom we work, and how they achieved as much as 20% growth this year!  We will share many of their best practices and provide stimulating ideas for you to apply in your organization.

    Building a great Board
The quality of the Board of Directors of a Charity Organization can make or break the organization. It can be a governance nightmare or provide wise insight and oversight for the senior management team. This session will provide tips for building a great Board, solutions when additional board expertise is hard to find and war stories of what can go wrong.

    Succeeding Beyond the Box
Charities can accomplish their missions, and move past their funding constraints by thinking outside the box and creatively employing multiple legal structures.  The challenges in doing so are daunting; however, the rewards of success are astounding. Miller Thomson, one of Canada’s leading law firms in the charity sector, will present examples of organizations which have accomplished this goal.

    Not-for-profit organizations:

For organizations, how less delivers more
Not-for-profits have never been more challenged to do more with less. However, most strategic fixes (e.g. adding new technology or outsourcing) have already been exploited. So leading NPO’s are now embracing the power of simplicity – a management philosophy that revolutionizes how organizations create and deliver value. Some come and learn how you can become one of these organizations.

    Succeeding Beyond the Box
Many not-for-profits struggle to increase revenue while remaining compliant with CRA interpretations.
