Press release:

KW’s Tannery District welcomes new neighbour

Kitchener-Waterloo, November 16, 2015

Grant Thornton, a leading Canadian accounting and advisory firm, announced today that its Kitchener-Waterloo office will soon have a new home. The new office space will be located in Kitchener’s Tannery District, at 121 Charles Street West, in the centre of the city’s start-up and technology hub. The move is planned for April 2016.

While the firm began operations in Kitchener only one year ago, the new, larger office is necessary to accommodate the firm’s rapid growth—and future expansion plans. The prime location was also a huge selling point, as it brings the firm closer to more privately-held businesses—a clientele in which Grant Thornton specializes.

“We are very excited to be a part of the dynamic landscape of companies in the KW region,” said Jim Copeland, Regional Managing Partner for Grant Thornton in Ontario. “We are planning to develop an open and collaborative space at the Tannery, similar to our neighbours Communitech, Google and D2L.”

The new Grant Thornton office is expected to be a contemporary hub where business professionals can meet, connect and access expert advice. The space will have an assortment of open workstations with collaborative offerings.

“Contemporary office spaces are designed to harness the power of collaboration and enable meaningful conversations,” added Copeland. “Our new space will bring privately-held business owners together, so they can engage in insightful conversations and foster positive change.”
