  • Grant Thornton LLP is proud to once again sponsor the Small and Medium-sized (SME) Enterprise Board Effectiveness Program at the Rotman School of Management for 2012.

    Program overview
This year's three-day program—titled Driving Growth, Creating Value—is designed to allow participants to:

    • Explore the unique challenges in governing SMEs
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholder groups
    • Build and strengthen decision-making processes
    • Increase transparency and clarity of roles between management and board members
    • Understand their fiduciary roles and responsibilities
    • Add value to corporate strategy through an appreciation of the appropriate roles of management and directors in the strategy process

The program is hands on, practical and focused on concrete learning and skill development which is immediately applicable in the boardroom. Participants should come away with enhanced knowledge and understanding of how to make their boards more effective and their companies more successful.

    Who should attend?
The program is designed for individuals who impact and are involved in, at a governance level, a SME and are accountable for growth, sustainability and the well-being of an organization. Individuals who are likely to assume corporate board positions in the near future would also benefit. Past participants have included Directors, Executives and Entrepreneurs from public, private and not-for profit boards/organizations.

The spring program runs from March 19-21, 2012. For more information on the program—or to register—please visit the Rotman School of Managament Web site
