Bill Brushett joined the Grant Thornton team in 1980. . He currently holds two roles in the firm as National Clients & Services Partner and National Assurance Leader. In the Clients & Services role, Bill is a member of the firm’s National Leadership Team and has responsibility for the three main service lines – Audit, Tax & Advisory, as well as oversight for client and market related strategies and initiatives, including the industry practices.
Beginning his career in assurance, Bill progressed through various client service roles in the Newfoundland practice and was admitted to partnership in 1990. He has served on the firm’s National Policy Board and was Managing Partner of the Newfoundland business unit from 1999 – 2005.
Bill holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from Memorial University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Newfoundland & Labrador. In 2002 he was elected as a Fellow of the Newfoundland Institute for his ongoing leadership to the profession, having served in various volunteer and executive roles including President in 2001-2002.
He has volunteered with various community organizations including the Arthritis Society, St. John’s Board of Trade, and the Advisory Board for the School of Business at Memorial University. He is currently a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Financial Executives International – Private Company Committee and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
