As the Leader of Grant Thornton’s National Cloud Accounting Practice, I have a unique understanding of how businesses of all sizes can benefit from cloud-based accounting platforms. I help companies adopt cloud software as a cost-effective way to enhance sales productivity, drive revenue and improve internal processes. It is rewarding to see clients improve the accuracy of their data and the timeliness of their reporting through cloud technology.
Beyond helping companies move into the cloud, I bring a varied technical skillset to client engagements. From tax planning and compliance, cross-border tax issues and transfer pricing, to audit and buy/sell decisions, I proactively look for ways to advocate for my clients. To serve their best interests, I draw on 20 years of experience in the private sector. My background allows me bring a unique perspective to my practice—one honed by holding roles as diverse as CFO, VP Finance, Director, Controller, General Manager, Internal Auditor and Chief Security Officer. This gives me a deep understanding of the challenges that owners and business managers face.
In terms of my professional involvement, I was previously a CPABC Public Practice Committee Member and served as Director for numerous organizations, including the Island Savings Credit Union, where I was Chair of the Audit Committee. I am also involved in our community through SFU Mentors in Business, where I act as a mentor to an SFU Business student. I am currently working with my sixth cohort of students.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters, as well as playing golf, hiking and skiing.
