As the Senior Manager of the Business Risk Services Practice at Grant Thornton, I lead the firm’s internal control compliance service line in Western Canada. A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMA), and Project Management Professional (PMP), my main areas of focus include SOX assurance, NI-52109 compliance, service organization control (SOC 1&2&3) assurance, IT advisory, and ERM engagements.
Outside of work, I’m a board member and Treasurer at the BC Mountaineering Club where I strive to promote the club’s objectives and provide exceptional services to its 1000-plus members. I’m also a member of the Society of Iranian Canadian Professionals and Society of Iranian Canadian Engineers—organizations which promote collaboration and networking among members and providing opportunities for talented professionals to lead and contribute to the regional development of BC.
I’m an avid mountaineer and spend most of my spare time alpine climbing, rock climbing and ice climbing. I’m also a running enthusiast, having run several full and half marathons in Canada and in the United States, as well as an experienced road cyclist who has ridden several GranFondos in the last few years. When I’m not outside, you can find me reading a book—most likely something about the philosophy of science or the political economy.
