Paul is the national leader of the firm's succession and estate planning practice and a tax partner. He primarily focuses on the "soft side" of succession, specifically family facilitation services by combining tax technical knowledge while having the acute sensitivity to understand the family dynamics. Paul assists clients in the articulation of their goals and objectives in the context of succession and transition of wealth, including privately held business interests across generations, identifying particular challenges in this context and working pro-actively to develop practical solutions to support both the continuity of the family and of their business interests. He has written numerous articles and delivered a number of presentations on the challenges of successful succession and transition planning.
In excess of 30 years' experience in the delivery of practical solutions to the needs of privately held businesses, 28 years as a partner of Grant Thornton, industry sector experience including manufacturing and distribution and professional services, a member of both the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors and the Family Firm Institute, as well as holding the FEA (Family Enterprise Advisor) designation.
