Troy is the firm's national leader for corporate finance and infrastructure in Canada. Troy specializes in advising domestic and international clients on transactions, mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, valuations and fairness opinions, including public private partnerships and project financing for infrastructure and power projects.
Troy advises clients in structuring innovative transactions and financings, including the following: (1) understanding business value through investment analysis, business valuation & fairness opinions, (2) providing advice in creating and realizing value through transactions (investment analysis, advising on acquisitions/divestitures and due diligence), and (3) implementing financing strategies to restructure balance sheets or source growth capital (private & public debt advisory, project finance, private equity and capital markets).
Prior to relocating to Toronto in 2008, Troy was a member of the firm's capital markets team in London, England.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2003, he was a member of the mergers & acquisition team at Emera (TSX:EMA), a large Canadian energy company. With Emera, he acted as project manager for greenfield and brownfield project development as well as acquisitions. He was a member of the project team that closed the $900M acquisition of Bangor Hydro Electric in 2001.
Troy has experience across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus in power and infrastructure.
Troy also sits on the infrastructure advisory committee of the Toronto Board of Trade, the Board of the Nova Scotia Nature Trust and is a member of the Grant Thornton LLP Partnership Board.
