Nominations open for 2017 Alberta Business Hall of Fame inductees

Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta & NWT is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for our 2017 Alberta Business Hall of Fame inductees.

Edmonton, AB - September 1, 2016

“Our Alberta Business Hall of Fame is made up of inspirational and remarkable entrepreneurs who have built our province and shaped our communities. We are excited to see who this year’s inductees will be,” says Jen Panteluk, President and CEO, Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta & NWT. “Thank you to our nomination partner, Grant Thornton, for your continued support.”

Each year, inductees are chosen by an independent Selection Committee for their enduring contributions to the economic development and prosperity of both Alberta and Canada, based on the following criteria: vision and leadership, impact, civic leadership and role model.

Nomination deadline is November 30, 2016.

About the Alberta Business Hall of Fame 

In 1980, the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame was unveiled to identify and chronicle the lives of great Alberta men and women whose business leadership and community stewardship shaped the ways that people live, work, and interact. With 76 Alberta men and women having the mark of distinction of being named as a Laureate, the Junior Achievement Alberta Business Hall of Fame stands alone as Alberta’s highest business leadership honour. Inductees will also be recognized on the Alberta Business Hall of Fame Wall of Honour on the second floor of Manulife Place.

For over 50 years, Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta & NWT has engaged and inspired students from grades 3 to 12 through free programs about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. Junior Achievement maximizes student potential by exposing them to real-life business leaders that teach tangible and relatable lessons in order to prepare them for success in the global economy. Last year, more than 550 volunteers taught JA programs to approximately 25,000 students.
