NDS 2013-04 Government transfers (October 2013)

In March 2011 the Canadian Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) issued Section PS 3410 Government Transfers, which replaced an older standard of the same name. The new standard can be applied either retrospectively or prospectively, and applies to fiscal periods beginning on or after April 1, 2012, with early adoption encouraged. This summary replaces NDS 2011-01 Government transfers issued on May 9, 2011 and will provide users with an understanding of the significant changes to the recognition, presentation and disclosure requirements as a result of the new standard.
