    Objectives

    Through our analysis process, we determined the following key objectives:

    Organizational improvements

    • Defined and documented roles and responsibilities
    • Delivered management training program to plant supervisors focused on improving systems, processes, change management and lean manufacturing principles
    • Developed ideal supervisory behavioral models and coached shop floor supervisors to increase proactive management, to schedule and follow up on work assignments, and to improve shop floor discipline

    Improve systems and communications

    • Increased communication through regularly scheduled performance review meetings designed to promote accountability and address improvement opportunities 
    • Developed and installed new reporting and measurement tools in sales, engineering, production, and executive areas aligned with key corporate success factors
    • Provided training aimed at perpetuating improvements through the management operating system 

    Improve delivery performance

    • Established a dedicated production scheduling function responsible for coordinating material and labour availability, plant productivity levels, and schedule attainment objectives 
    • Implemented daily/weekly tracking of late shipments and drove root-cause analysis to ensure corrective action was taken
