As an Assurance Partner in the Langley office, I help families and closely-held companies looking to add value to their businesses, people and communities. I strive to be their trusted advisor by providing practical advice that is unique to their business.
I support family businesses with transition and succession planning, adding clarity and structure through a family governance model. By assisting families in establishing strong and lasting communication, I help them to understand the value of family in an ever-changing business environment.
I decided to become a Chartered Professional Accountant thanks to my father’s accountant, who I worked with at the start of my career. From there, I worked with several national accounting firms before joining Grant Thornton in 2002. What I love most about my role is engaging with my clients and colleagues in meaningful ways. Every day is different, and things never get boring.
In addition to my membership in the BC Chapter of the Family Enterprise Exchange (FEX) and CPABC, I sit on the board of the Special Olympics of BC as treasurer. I was also on the board for Big Brothers and Sisters of the Fraser Valley for 20 years, and was very active with Abbotsford minor soccer, where I was a volunteer coach and manager for 15 years.
Outside of work, my life revolves around music, sports and family. I’ve been playing guitar for most of my life and really enjoy attending live shows and concerts. I also play ice hockey in a recreational league. In addition, my wife and I are blessed with three daughters and four grandchildren who we enjoy spending time with on our family farm.
