As a Principal in the US Personal Tax practice, I help clients with incoming and outgoing personal tax planning.

I have extensive experience helping non-residents sell real property in both the United States and Canada and am well-versed with the various filings and aspects of such transactions. Additionally, I help clients work through various US compliance issues, and can advise US citizens of their rights and obligations in the US tax system.

Before joining Grant Thornton in 2012, I worked for other accounting firms in Halifax, learning what is important to Nova Scotians. I worked primarily in domestic Canadian tax prior to coming to Grant Thornton and, due to this experience, am able to speak to both the Canadian and US tax implications on a variety of topics.

In 2017, I joined the Board of Nocturne: Art at Night Festival—a free, one-night festival that allows both artists and the community to experience art around Halifax in all its forms. I also enjoy travelling, both locally and abroad, and also enjoy camping around this beautiful province of Nova Scotia.
