Increasing deal success while reducing overall risk for my clients is my passion as the Leader of the Integration and Separation practice. This involves creating a solution from the breadth of Grant Thornton’s services which I tailor to each individual client’s need. I have over 35 years of M&A experience, including corporate acquirers, private equity, and consulting.
Previously, I worked at Grant Thornton in the US as a Partner in Strategy and Transactions, having launched the integration and divestitures service line over 10 years ago. Before joining the firm, I was Executive Vice-President of a globally recognized engineering and strategic consultancy firm serving the refining and petrochemical gas sectors with a global client base. My work history also includes being a Partner with a “Big 4” Firm, where I was a founding member of the Transaction Integration practice and led the Southeast team.
Throughout the world, I’ve advised on deals in various countries including Brazil, Canada, and China. From start-ups to Fortune 100 companies, I’ve been involved with hundreds of deals for both private equity and corporate clients. I advised on the largest transaction in Latin American history (Vale – Inco) and most recently, the largest transaction in the global oilfield services sector (Schlumberger – Cameron). In divestitures, I advised on the Wendy’s public spinout of Tim Hortons.
My consulting work has included strategic investment advisory services for corporate and private equity clients regarding joint ventures, mergers, integrations, divestitures, carve-outs, and performance improvement initiatives. I also present regularly at global conferences and contribute to publications on transaction integration topics, cultural alignment considerations, and business growth strategies.
When I’m not working with clients, you can find me enjoying a good book, writing, and traveling.
