A partner in assurance services, I have over 24 years of experience providing business advisory and assurance services to a diverse client base—particularly those in technology, construction and real estate, public administration, charities and not-for-profits, and management of (holding) companies and enterprises.
My current role is multi-faceted—allowing me to help my clients in a variety of ways. In addition to being a Family Enterprise Advisor—a role that allows me to forge deep relationships with my family business clients and establish a broad understanding of the issues they face—I’m also a leader of the Science and Technology Business Advisory team for Nova Scotia. In my role, I help technology businesses address a wide range of challenges—from start-up to exit—including negotiating capital raises, securing financing from both traditional and non-traditional lenders, establishing policies and procedures, and a range of other things.
When I’m not at work, I’m deeply committed to the advancement of the accounting profession. I have instructed numerous courses for both the firm and Chartered Professional Accountants Nova Scotia on a variety of topics, including “Accounting, Audit and Tax Update for Charities and Not-for-profits”. I also enjoy giving back to the community in whatever way I can—whether it’s by sitting on the board for Cole Harbour Place, acting as treasurer for the Dartmouth Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada, or coaching softball and hockey.
