As a business consultant with a focus on tourism and hospitality, as well as the government and not-for-profit sectors, I provide clients with strategic plans, feasibility studies, and multi-stakeholder facilitation and business services. Whether clients need advice regarding a tourism-related business or support gaining agreement from their board and stakeholders, I approach every engagement in a calm and strategic fashion and take great pride in delivering well-researched, well-written action plans and reports.
I take particular pleasure in the variety of interesting and challenging projects that come my way—with recent work ranging from feasibility due diligence for a proposed high-end luxury adventure resort, to economic impact studies for various organizations, to the development of long-term destination development strategies for several regions in Northern BC.
To each consulting engagement, I bring a broad perspective informed by my experience living and working in other countries—including Asia, where I worked as a marketing supervisor at a large business hotel, and India, where I ran a consulting business specializing in ecotourism and cultural tourism planning. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, I also worked with what is now Destination BC, the Crown Corporation that leads the province’s tourism development and marketing.
Working at a firm that genuinely encourages people to contribute to social well-being has also allowed me to make a positive difference to local communities. In addition to acting as a mentor to university students from Capilano University and other institutions, I routinely serve as a panel judge for university student case competitions at the annual BC Tourism Industry Conference. I have also presented on topics such as strategic planning and governance at Grant Thornton’s Charity and Not-for-Profit seminar series in both Vancouver and Victoria.
When not at work, you can find me pursuing adventure travel experiences, learning about other cultures, playing competitive tennis, and enjoying cycling, yoga and cooking.
