Over the course of my 13+ years as a recovery and reorganization (R&R) practitioner, I have been involved in a variety of engagements, including restructurings, formal and informal insolvency and turnaround mandates. I have also acted as financial advisor to a range of lenders, corporate debtors and other stakeholders.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients in an array of different industries, including mining, forestry, agriculture, technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and retail. My experience ranges from working on fairly simple engagements with troubled small businesses, to working through complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings. This included the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act proceedings of Walter Energy Canada Holdings, Inc. and RB Energy Inc. (in both cases as Court-Appointed Monitor).
Prior to becoming an R&R professional, I spent several years working in industry. I draw from those experiences, along with my professional training and experience as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA), a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT), to help my clients work through their business challenges.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy combining my love of motorcycle touring with my passion for landscape photography, and frequently set out to explore new roads and vistas throughout western Canada and into the western United States. During the winter months when riding becomes less pleasant, I am a movie aficionado who also enjoys reading a good thriller novel.
