People are at the core of everything I do—from developing future leaders to developing new business. As the regional managing partner for Atlantic Canada and member of the National Management Committee at Grant Thornton LLP, I work with colleagues to provide clients with strategic advice they can rely on to support sustainable growth. My leadership style includes helping my team cultivate a deep understanding of what matters to clients, their industry, and their community.
I believe empowered people empower others. That’s why I build trusting and meaningful relationships with clients, colleagues, and the communities of the Atlantic region. Aiming to make a difference one relationship at a time, I foster an environment where everyone belongs and is valued.
Drawing on over 30 years as an advisor providing accounting, taxation, and general business advisory services to public and private sector businesses, I also focus on growing the firm through providing exceptional client experiences and recruiting skilled talent.
Throughout my career, I’ve had a strong passion for giving back to my community by volunteering my time and expertise. Currently, I sit on the steering committee for Tribe Network, a community of Black, Indigenous and People of Colour who are pursuing entrepreneurship and innovation. In the past, I’ve also been on the Board of Governors at Dalhousie University, served as Chair of the Accounting Education Foundation of Nova Scotia, and held executive roles at the Discovery Centre, Halifax Chamber of Commerce, and International Women’s Forum. Additionally, I’ve supported the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia, United Way, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Arthritis Society.
I’m also a certified coach through the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. I enjoy supporting my colleagues’ career journeys through coaching—both formally and informally—as well as mentoring youth and others in the business community.
