As leader of the Internal Control Compliance Practice in Western Canada, I provide assurance on organizations’ compliance with the requirements of Service Organization Control Standards (including SOC 1, 2 and 3, and SOC for Cybersecurity), Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and executive disclosures in annual and interim filings (NI-52109). I also provide IT advisory services and help our clients execute on their enterprise risk management (ERM) programs.
In addition to being a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), I also hold designations as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMA) and Project Management Professional (PMP). This has equipped me to deliver assurance and business risk services across a wide range of industries, from public and financial sectors to mining, real estate and beyond.
I strongly believe in taking an active part in my local community. I’m a board member and Treasurer at the BC Mountaineering Club, where I work with other board members to promote the Club’s objectives and provide exceptional services to its 1,300+ members. I’m also a member of the Society of Iranian Canadian Professionals and the Society of Iranian Canadian Engineers, where I help talented professionals to collaborate, network and contribute to regional development in BC.
Outside of work, I’ve long been an avid mountaineer and spend most of my spare time alpine climbing, rock climbing and ice climbing. I have also run several full and half marathons in both Canada and the United States, and drawn on my experience as a road cyclist to ride several Gran Fondos. In my down time, I love reading books about the philosophy of science and socioeconomics.
