As a CPA, I help clients in the agriculture and oil and gas industries with their tax, accounting and financial management needs. This can range from assisting with cash flow management and tax planning to providing solutions for business problems such as payroll. I honed my industry experience growing up in Duchess, Alberta—which has strong agricultural and oilfield ties—and then articling in Brooks, Alberta where I worked directly with agricultural and oilfield services companies.
In 2005, I received my Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, where I played hockey for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. Playing sports at a high level taught me many valuable lessons about teamwork and dedication. Before joining Grant Thornton, I was a senior accountant for Bevan and Partners and a partner at BVA LLP.
When not a work, you can find me volunteering for several organizations, including the Redcliff Ladies Softball Association, the U of L Women’s Hockey Alumni Foundation, the Brooks and Duchess Minor Ball associations and organizations like the United Way, where I volunteer wrapping gifts at Christmas time. I also continue to stay active playing many sports, including volleyball, baseball and golf.
