As a senior manager in the Grant Thornton Assurance practice, I not only engage with a variety of different clients, but I also lead internal teams from offices across Ontario and the East Coast. I’m well-versed in a variety of different engagement types including audit, compilations and review engagements, as well as more advisory-type work such as strategic planning, internal control and risk assessments.
The thing I enjoy most about working at Grant Thornton is the firm’s ongoing commitment to its clients, communities and colleagues. I believe passionately in giving back to the community in which I live and work, which is why—in addition to supporting my clients and colleagues in every way possible—I also make sure our office supports organizations within the city of Barrie.
I’ve personally been involved in a variety of different community events, such as Bowling for Big Brothers Big Sisters Barrie and Dragon Boating for local charities, while members of our office have volunteered their time and contributed fundraising dollars to programs that impact our community. Additionally, I’m currently involved in two organizations: The MacLaren Arts Centre, where I hold the role as Treasurer to the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee, and Habitat for Humanity Huronia where I’m a member of the Audit Committee.
My hobbies include spending time with my one-year-old son, Liam, and my wife, Kathleen; golfing; and playing recreational baseball.
