About the client

Entegrus currently operates electricity distribution systems for over 60,000 customers in Southwestern Ontario. Entegrus also operates a successful fibre optic internet division, Entegrus Fibre. While this division was experiencing rapid growth, Entegrus decided it was in the customers’ best interest to sell this portion of the business to strengthen the other core business divisions, allowing them to better serve all their customers.

With limited resources available, they enlisted the help of Grant Thornton to assist them through selling this business line. Our advisors introduced them to relevant strategic parties and managed the sale to Start.ca, an Ontario-based telecommunications company.

Entegrus fibre is now set to continue flourishing—with increased capacity—in the capable hands of its new owners, while their customers can expect a seamless transition.
