In early 2022, three women-owned businesses were selected to participate in the first cohort of the program. Though their businesses differ, they all recognize the benefits of cloud accounting.
During the pandemic, Danielle re-thought her career in research and decided to hone in on her inherited farming skills and buy a heritage sheep farm. Located in Lower Cambridge, New Brunswick, Connell Farm is focused on raising and processing livestock to sell within the community in order to help address the local food security concerns. With 200 sheep currently, and demand steadily increasing, Connell Farm is aiming to make a sustainable and substantial impact on the local community.
Established in 2020, Cape Reef Seafood is a retail store based in the beautiful rural fishing community of Beach Point, PEI. It offers fresh, frozen and smoked seafood. Megan's husband often fishes in the area and supplies the lobster and other products they sell!
Truro Brewing Company is owned and operated by Jane and her wife Patricia. You can find them at their brewery and taproom where they brew everything from scratch! Jana supports several organizations in her community and recently launched a brew to support the Brave Noise campaign which raises awareness around the discrimination in the brewing industry.
