COVID-19 Update: To our valued clients

Good Morning,

The present COVID-19 crisis has created a challenge that none of us could imagine just a short time ago. Our most immediate priorities are the safety of our colleagues and supporting our clients in any way we can.

We know our clients very well and while we have no visibility into what is ahead, our professionals are here to help you develop an appropriate response to the business challenges you presently face. We have launched a page on our website (www.grantthornton.ca) intended to provide you with helpful advice. Content providing guidance on how to manage your cash flow during these financial headwinds and information on resources available through government programs are available. We are committed to introducing additional insight, through our website and other channels, as it becomes available.

Grant Thornton has a responsibility to contribute in any way we can to slow the transmission of the COVID-19 virus and we can best contribute by minimizing interpersonal contact and practicing effective social distancing. We are encouraging all our colleagues to work from home and restricting our colleagues’ attendance at client premises. Consequently, if we are scheduled to attend your premises for any reason during this period, we will be making arrangements to conduct as much of our work as possible remotely and converting in person meetings into telephone or video conferences. We remain committed to ensuring your needs are met and we will continue to work with you to accommodate any unique circumstances. Rest assured, working together, we will find the right solution.

We will also be closing our offices to the public effective today, Wednesday, March 18 until end of day, Tuesday, March 31 (subject to ongoing review).

This is obviously a very difficult time for everyone and like you, we must balance the well being and safety of our colleagues with the needs of our clients. We remain committed in every way possible to helping you though this time. Our response plan is in full effect and our colleagues will continue to work with you from a remote location, as they have been since March 13.

Despite the immediate challenges we are all faced with, I want to reiterate, we are here to help and we will continue to provide you with information and guidance in as timely a manner as possible.

Please know our thoughts are with you, your families and your employees.

Sincerely,

Kevin Ladner, FCPA, CA, CBV
