As a Principal with the Grant Thornton Moncton office, I’m responsible for helping business owners create efficient tax strategies to minimize their tax burdens.
For the last 16 years, I’ve supported private business clients throughout all phases of the business cycle. I’ve helped entrepreneurs successfully launch businesses and retire from them, and supported others as they navigated mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and the crafting of estate plans.
In addition to the 14 years I have enjoyed working with Grant Thornton, I have also worked in the financial services sector, providing advice to investment advisors’ high net worth clients from across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. In this capacity, I analyzed each client’s circumstances providing them with income tax, retirement and estate planning advice.
I view each client’s situation as a unique and individualized experience—and take great steps to provide them with the specific tailored attention they deserve. As part of this approach, I begin every client engagement with an in-depth discovery meeting where I learn about each client’s unique goals, objectives, challenges, opportunities and plans for their future. Once I thoroughly understand how I can support these business owners and high net worth families, I find creative and innovative solutions to meet their personalized goals.
Continuous improvement is also a cornerstone of my practice. I’m always striving to offer top value to my clients—whether that’s by learning about new tax planning strategies or advising them on recent legislative changes that may impact their private businesses and shareholders.
Outside of my daily work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three young boys—particularly, by taking them camping, swimming and coaching their baseball teams. It’s also important to give back to my community, and right now I’m doing so by serving on the board of Baseball Dieppe.
