Gloria Banks

With over 30 years of professional experience, I help small- to medium-sized privately held businesses with succession planning, and tax and accounting issues. I also provide audit services to financial institutions, first nation communities, mutual insurance companies, not-for-profit organizations, and municipalities.  

As the main point of contact for my client’s management team, I supervise the engagement team, lead risk assessment and perform quality control reviews in complex and high-risk areas. I always start with getting to know my client’s business, understanding their goals, and considering relevant external factors. From there, I can provide tailored solutions and bring in other subject matter experts where needed. 

Born and raised in Yarmouth, I understand specific challenges that local businesses face. I have previous experience at a “big four” firm in Halifax and have completed consulting assignments with the provinces of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick on accounting standards changes. I’ve also worked on consulting assignments involving municipal and educational cost structures, health care financial systems, and international transfer pricing.  

Helping my community grow is  very important to me. I volunteer as the Treasurer for Juniper House and Hebron Baptist Church. I’m also a board member of Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce.  

In my personal time, I enjoy travelling, watching local hockey and spending time with friends and family.
