Navigating the complex world of US tax law is a challenge I truly enjoy taking on for my clients. I know that anticipating and dealing knowledgeably with the US tax environment saves my clients time and money. With more than 11 years of experience providing US tax services, I pride myself on bringing value to my clients. I’m a member of the national US tax team, and I lead the US tax practice for Nova Scotia. I also work closely with clients who operate in the professional services and manufacturing and distribution industries.

My experience spans corporate and personal compliance, estate planning and structural planning. I’ve put my in-depth knowledge of cross-border tax issues and tax efficiencies to work for hundreds of US personal tax clients, helping them become compliant while ensuring they are taking full advantage of available exemptions. This means a lot of experience to add value and insights to clients facing similar challenges. By getting to know my clients well, we can plan today with their best interests in mind and avoid costly problems tomorrow.

I believe in advancing our profession, which is why I’m an instructor with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia, and the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy. I’m also a board member for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Board of Evaluators, which develops and manages the Uniform Final Examination.

Every fall, I anxiously await the start of hockey season to cheer on both my sons as well as volunteer with their teams.  I love spending time with my family – taking vacations to both Eastern Europe and sunny destinations.
