Strategic and forward-thinking tax planning is the foundation for achieving financial goals. As a Grant Thornton partner with the Halifax office and leader of the Atlantic Canada International Tax Practice, I work with my clients to understand their business and shape their strategy for maximum tax efficiency.
I have 30 years of experience as a trusted tax planning advisor for clients doing business in Canada and abroad, understanding the complexities of inbound and outbound tax planning, particularly for Nova Scotia Unlimited Liability Companies, offshore sales corporations, and international financing arrangements. I have particular expertise in establishing tax efficient structures, financing companies and offshore sales companies, as well as expatriation tax planning, and employee relocation services.
In addition to my client work, I’ve served as Chair of the Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia. I’ve also lectured for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountants, and the Atlantic Provinces Tax Conference on various taxation matters.
