Castlegar
Senior Manager

Jodi Silva

While born and raised in Castlegar, BC, I graduated from UBC in 2006 before obtaining an articling position with KPMG in Vancouver. By 2007, I had earned my CA designation and I’ve been employed in public practice ever since. In 2010, I returned to Castlegar with my husband and joined the Grant Thornton team as a senior manager where I focus predominantly on conducting and leading audit engagements of public sector, private owner-managed and not-for-profit organizations.

While acting as an audit manager in Vancouver, I was a member of a subgroup of partners and managers that specialized in the audits of mid-sized private and not-for-profit enterprises. I was also heavily involved in training new staff and helped to develop a “mock audit” training program for the Vancouver office.

As a leader in the Castlegar office, I’ve leveraged that experience to help implement professional standards and manage efficient audit engagements. I am also actively involved in the promotion of the CPA profession to local college students and enjoy mentoring Grant Thornton’s articling Chartered Professional Accounting students.

As a past member of the Castlegar Sunrise Rotary Club, I helped organize fundraising activities to assist the club in providing our community with amazing facilities, such as the Celgar Pavilion in Millennium Park. Currently, I support the Castlegar Aquanauts as their Treasurer. In my free time, I love spending quality time with my husband and two young sons enjoying the great Kootenay outdoors.
