Helping clients maximize their wealth by structuring their succession plans, estate plans and compensation strategies effectively is what I do best.

As a Partner in Domestic Income Tax, I work with business owners, high net worth individuals, and estates to navigate our complex income tax system and minimize their tax burden. I also advise my corporate clients on transactions, such as incorporations and sales of businesses, to optimize their current objectives and provide them with flexibility as their businesses and goals evolve. I believe in a holistic approach to achieving client objectives, and often collaborate with our Assurance and Advisory teams as well as legal and financial advisors.

Sharing my expertise with the broader tax community is also important to me. I regularly speak on various tax topics at events, including for the Canadian Tax Foundation, and have facilitated group study sessions for the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program.

My career began at a local firm in Peterborough, Ontario before our local office joined the Grant Thornton family in 2018. Having grown up in the nearby town of Cobourg, I understand the value of community and try to give back as much as possible. I’m the finance chair for Kawartha Family Court Assessment Services and the treasurer for the Peterborough Estate Planning Council. I’m also a Grant Thornton Foundation committee member, where I help decide which local organizations and programs we support.

At home, I enjoy spending time with my wife and young daughter. I have a passion for personal fitness, play a variety of sports, and enjoy playing the guitar. In the summertime, you’ll often find me cruising on my motorcycle across the beautiful roads of the Kawarthas.
