As an Assurance and Business Advisory Services partner working in Victoria, BC, I leverage over 20 years of public practice experience to help organizations in a wide range of industries, including forestry, hospitality, retail, food manufacturing, transportation, real estate, solar technology and charities.

In collaboration with the owners and directors of these organizations, I help ensure that their assurance needs are met by providing attestation and due diligence services. However, the most interesting part of my work is advising them on business matters spanning everything from bank financing, executive compensation and risk management to strategy setting and succession planning. It’s professionally rewarding to watch clients grow their operations and become fixture businesses in the local economy.

The work I do with my clients often leads me to opportunities to volunteer in my community. In large part, what motivates me to serve are the fantastic people in great organizations that help ensure we live in a spirited, inclusive society and work in a vibrant and diverse economy. Whether helping to organize fund-raising events for cancer research or coaching minor hockey, giving back to my community is a passion I believe in and something I encourage everyone to do.

For instance, in addition to my role with the Victoria Foundation, I currently serve on the Board of Governors of St. Michaels University School and as a volunteer coach with the Saanich Minor Hockey Association. In the past, I served as Chair of the Board of Governors of Camosun College, board member of the South Vancouver Island Economic Development Association, treasurer of the Royal and McPherson Theatres Society, Advisory Council member of the BC Cancer Foundation and Governing Council Member for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC. In 2013, I was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and became a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada in 2015.

I feel so lucky to live in a part of the world with access to so many recreational activities all year round. Playing hockey, soccer or golf and taking family walks on the beach are just some of the ways that I unwind from work.
