Lisa Poehl

I can help with compliance, succession planning, and expanding, transitioning, or selling your business. My primary focus is small to medium-sized businesses in agriculture. I also work with business in manufacturing and professional services. 

I’m always open to evaluating ideas that my clients bring to the table and working with them to make informed business decisions. I ask my clients thought-provoking questions, listen to their perspectives, and always leave room for building out new pathways to success. To address specific client needs, I know I can turn to my Grant Thornton colleagues that have a broad range of training and experience, where needed.

I’m passionate and experienced about working with agri-businesses to realize their full growth potential, having spent my childhood on a dairy farm. As these businesses are often family-owned, I work with them to help to find an optimal balance between business and family goals. As a Chartered Professional Accountant, I’ve also supported farmers while previously working for the government and a big four firm.

Giving back to the profession, I teach my colleagues to see the connection between business advice and community impact. In addition, most of my free time is spent taxiing my children to and from activities—and enjoying time with family and friends. Hiking, gardening, and spending time outside are some of my favourite activities.
