Specialty Tax Practice Lead

Noreen Marchand

As a Partner and National Leader of Cross Border Personal Tax Services, I lead the firm’s US Personal tax and Global Mobility Services practice. While building a strong and loyal team that leads with integrity, respect and inspiration, I support my clients in optimizing corporate and asset structures, estate planning and minimizing unexpected tax consequences.

I’ve spent the past 21 years honing my expertise and navigating the complexities of US and Canadian cross-border tax. This focus has positioned me to help corporations and high net-worth individuals manage their tax exposures on both sides of the border.

To date, I’ve worked on an extensive array of engagements including helping individuals with dual residence or citizenship to comply with tax laws in more than one country at the same time. I structure cross border business expansion, manage effective tax costs, advise on cross border moves, and address mobile workforce issues. I simplify complex issues, create practical solutions, and empower stakeholders to manage risks and opportunities.

I am a regular speaker on various federal and multi-state tax topics, and have presented to several industry groups, networking groups and professional organizations, including the Tax Executive Institute.

I received my MBA from the University of Windsor, my LL.B from Western University and my Chartered Directors from the Directors College, DeGroote School of Business. Being passionate about food security, I am proud to serve as a board member at Food For Life Canada, a Burlington based food rescue organization whose mission is "Rescuing Food. Impacting Lives."
