Building strong relationships and developing trust with my clients are the two components essential to the decision-making process. This approach also allows me to put my best efforts towards understanding my client’s circumstances and needs so I can help their business thrive.

As a Tax Partner in our Sydney office, I have extensive expertise in assisting privately held businesses and Indigenous groups. I serve a wide range of entrepreneurs and risktakers from various industries including professional services, fishing and construction, hospitality, gaming, and aquaculture. Together, we explore different business scenarios every day to identify opportunities and solve challenges.

Assisting businesses with tax planning or transactions, I take time to investigate my clients’ situation, objectives, and where they see themselves in the future. With more than 25 years of professional experience in domestic corporate, personal, and Indigenous tax consulting, I help with succession and estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring.  Working together, we overcome complex and high stress situations, where I provide advice and guidance. 

Originally from Catalone, Nova Scotia, I value the local community and actively contribute to its development. As a Board member of Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame, I support governance in managing finance issues. My volunteer work with the United Way of Cape Breton, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, and Whitney Pier Youth Club helps me stay aware of my community’s needs while giving back.

Outside the office, I enjoy spending my time traveling or playing golf.
