As a Transfer Pricing Partner at Grant Thornton LLP in Canada, I’m responsible for leading over 30 professionals—including economists, tax experts, financial analysts, and accountants—in the areas of transfer pricing planning and strategy; cross-border capital structure planning; due-diligence reviews and pre-acquisition planning; intangible property valuation and migration; tax authority audit management; appeals, tax court and competent authority support; and advance pricing arrangements.
I also lead the firm’s Complex Financial Instrument Pricing (CFIP) sub-specialty group. My CFIP practice involves the valuation of financial instruments for tax and IFRS / accounting purposes, including debt notes and embedded derivatives, warrants, privately-held securities, PSUs, and other financial instruments. Additionally, the CFIP group provides economic and financial modelling services, including Monte Carlo simulation modelling and creation of custom computational algorithms.
I hold a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Queen’s University (specializing in Finance), and a master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Waterloo. My work has garnered me the attention of Euromoney—a business and finance magazine—which named me a Rising Star in Transfer Pricing for three consecutive years. I’m also proud to be a part of the practice which was awarded the prestigious Transfer Pricing Advisory Firm of the Year award by the International Tax Review in 2018.
