Keith MacIntyre

I can help owners of private companies with their personal and business tax planning. I have significant industry experience in real estate and construction—dealing extensively with some of the largest developers in the region and beyond. In addition, my role working with Grant Thornton’s tech clients continues to grow. I help start-ups and later stage companies transition through their life cycle. I also co-authored a paper on regionalizing the equity tax credit and helped organize a regional movement to increase provincial collaboration on funding tech companies.

I’m passionate about developing strong relations with owners and professional management and take the time to understand their business, objectives, and key success factors specific to their sector.

Over my time at Grant Thornton, I’ve served in various roles, including Nova Scotia and National Tax Service Line Leader, and a member of the Nova Scotia Management Committee and the National Tax Solutions Committee.

I also taking giving back to the community and our profession very seriously. I’m an active lecturer and presenter, plus former member of the Canadian Tax Foundations Board of Governors. I’m also currently on the board of Life Sciences Nova Scotia (formerly Bio NOVA) and I’ve held past board roles including Nova Scotia Nature Trust, Atlantic Tax Foundation, Family Business Association, Boys and Girls Clubs, Kidney Foundation, and Halifax Educational Foundation.

In my free time, I love to ski and when the snow isn’t flying, you can find me mountain biking.  My family and I are also avid travellers, music lovers, and especially love live music.
